Work Life Blending

My finca

Mallorca is more than just a place of longing for me - it's a second home. I bought a finca there a few years ago and have turned it into my little paradise over the years. I'm often there in the summer, working on the terrace in the morning, making phone calls from the pool or simply driving around the island to clear my head. That's exactly what work-life blending is for me: when you realize that both work and life work side by side without getting in each other's way. Mallorca gives me energy. And sometimes new ideas too.

SALITOS BEACH

When I'm in Paderborn, I'm often drawn to SALITOS Beach. We opened the beach club a few years ago and have been constantly developing it ever since. New furniture, new colors, new ideas. I get my inspiration on the go: a photo here, a detail there. I see a lot of things when I'm traveling, some things in other beach clubs, and I often know just by looking at the picture whether it could work here too. For me, the beach is a place to unwind, but it's also a place where new ideas are born in passing.

The trips

India, China, Dubai, Mykonos, Albania and many more places. My job allows me to travel a lot. And I love it. Not only because you get to understand new markets, but also because you gain new perspectives with every country. I absorb an incredible amount on the road: Products, moods, conversations, everyday moments. All of this later flows into my work. Traveling is not a luxury for me - it's part of my rhythm. And often also the moment when I initiate new projects.

The partners

In over 30 years in the business, many partnerships have developed - and over time, real friendships too. I really appreciate that. We know each other, we trust each other, we treat each other well. And that makes a lot of things easier: talking, negotiating, growing together. When I'm out and about with partners, a good dinner is just as much a part of it as a serious discussion about the next project. Separate private and business? You don't always have to. On the contrary - it often works better if you consciously mix it up.
